Annoucement to the World: I’m Having a Baby. :)

February 8, 2010 in Uncategorized

If you know me, sort of, you know I’m very goal oriented!  Running, work, whatever, I love me some goals!  I can dream up the best goals you have ever heard of or could have imagined!  If you know me well, I mean really well, following through on those goals and having them turn out like I dreamed them up doesn’t ALWAYShappen for me.  Take for instance my baby situation.  My goal was to have a baby before Gray was three.  Sounds fantastic, so I do the math, some planning, yada-yada…. and I end up pregnant.  However, I’m due at the beginning of the school year, aka when moneywork should pick up, aka when my brothers and sister and mama and mother in law and sister in law and husband go back to school, aka goal accomplished… perfect dream scenario screwed!  But like I know best, right?  Right?

And for the facts…..My family went skiing for Christmas, it was our Christmas, and it was awesome.  After bruising a rib, a tailbone, and injuring my neck trying to keep up with my sister on the snowboard (self-diagnosed! :) ), I’m thinking to myself on the last night on the mountain, I think I might be pregnant.  I have no way of testing, I feel great, well sort of, so the wait begins.  We get home Sunday night, late.  Monday, we slept practically all day, got up and moved around SLOWLY, and tried to do nothing.  Monday night, super late, I finally decide to give myself the test…. and I’m pretty sure we all know by now how it turned out.  Tuesday morning, I was trying to sleep, and my Daddy called.  He told me that Grandmama had passed away, just that morning.  Needless to say, I was a puddle of mush and tears and deep thoughts, and bad stuff and good stuff for the rest of that week.  Being pregnant kind of took a back seat.   Sitting in my grandparents kitchen, I started to do some math and realized that my baby would be born in August near my Grandmama’s birthday.  It gave me chills.

As of right now, I’m working on 12 weeks, not long until I’m done with my first trimester.  I have been SO sick off and on.  I can’t wear things around my neck, I throw up during the day, I have to eat constantly, a little at a time, just thinking about certain foods make me sick, , drying my hair makes me sick, and I am depleted of energy at the end of each day!   But I keep reminding myself that these are good things.  It means that this baby is still there.  I try not to think about miscarrying, but if you have one, I think it’s always in the back of your mind.

Gray sort of knows what’s goin on?  We talk about it a lot, but she looks at me like I am CRAZY when I try to explain that there is a baby living in mommy’s tummy.  She says she is having a sistah.

I could care less if it’s a girl or a boy.  Either would be cool.  We’ve had a boy name picked out since before Gray, so unless there is a huge change of heart this little boy will be “Crew Manning Lockaby”.  I can picture shouting at ball fields already! :)   The girls name is a point of contention.  I like “Chapel” and “Elle” (pronounced L).  Elle sounds a little more like an old soul.  Middle names have not been decided.  Kevin likes both, so we’ll see.

We are excited about this next chapter in our lives.  Unlike with Gray’s pregnancy, I’m more relaxed and enjoying everyday of life.  I have no idea what the future holds, but I know it’s going to be awesome.  Please join us in praying for a healthy baby and for some specific prayers to be answered before Baby Lockaby #2 comes along.  I serve a BIG GOD, and I’m excited to see how he will come through for us in the end!

Hope everyone is now up to date!

GAME-COCKS! GAME-COCKS!  :) (Just had to put that in there!)  I’m pretty sure that Carolina should send me some sort of award, because I’m 98% sure the only reason USC won is because Clemson allowed a Gamecock fan to tread on their turf two days before the big game.   You see, I left all sorts of hate that perpatrated the locker rooms, campus, rooms, practice facitilities, thus resulting in a painful loss! :)   JK!  If my sister didn’t play ball @ USC, and my husband didn’t love Clemson so much, my Gamecock pride wouldn’t be so in ya face (so blame them…).

ANYWAYZZZZZ.  I met up with the Clarys to get some pictures that could be used for Christmas cards.  I have to admit, that some of these are my new favorite pics!!!!  I love architecture, good lines, fun families, cute kids, etc.  And some of these pics have all of these characteristics and more.  So thank you Clary family!   I’d love to back to Clemson and shoot @ the same time next year…  MUUahhahahhaaa (Evil Laugh!) ;) 12
