The Eads: Familia
August 17, 2009 in FamiliaI was accused in high school of always being “perfect”. People would apologize to me when they used bad language in front of me and would whisper ARRRROUND me about what went down over the weekend, or my supposed perfection drove them crazy enough that they were dying to see me do something imperfect.
It is still funny to me. I never got it. I was FAR from perfect. In fact, I hate perfection. I hate when people fake perfection. I hate when people fake faking perfection. I’m a realist. I like to be real. I like people to be real with me. I like to be real with people. If you ever want to know where I suck at life ask me, I’ll give you an earful.
As a photographer, my favorite pics are the ones that are not perfectly posed, without fake emotion or smiles. I like real photos. Real family moments. Real mishaps. Real laughs. Real emotion. Real love. Real excitement. Real tears. To me, that is what being a photographer is all about. Capturing who your subject is past the fake smile. Capturing true love behind the kiss. Capturing confidence and beauty behind the perfect pose.
With all that said, take a look at the Eads’ family pictures. Bless their hearts, they are troopers who were on a mission! They braved the rain, like literally we were taking pictures in the rain, to capture memories of their growing family. Going through the photos, I laughed (a lot), I awwwwww-ed, I smiled, and some (because of the weather conditions) I quickly tossed! The weather might not have been perfect, but the love and joy of the their family was real!
To the Eads’: I’m sorry that mother nature decided not to cooperate, :/ and that some of the pictures I wanted to come out the most, decided to have big fog screens over them or raindrops in front of them. But the imperfect photos I’m posting are some of my favorites I’ve ever shot. Please let me know when you are all back down again, and I would be happy to shoot again for nothing.
I really hope you forgive me for posting this one, but I laughed and laughed at this series. I love them.
Seriously.

This one was the best family photo. The rest were affected by the weather severely, and if you look close you can see the raindrops in this one as well.

I love all the kid photos. They are so precious (the photos and the kids

Had to post two of this little man. I’m so jealous of those curls!

What a doll!

This one could be an actress. Her face had a different expression in EVERY photo.

Too sweet!

Something about being the oldest.

I do have a regular posed pic of the guys, but I love these.

The gals. Who are ALL expecting.

Family Time.

Far from perfect, but this is my favorite family photo ever.
